Description
The Isozaki Towers are two 22-storey buildings of 83m high by the river. Between them there are 35m wide steps that are up to 50 metres at its widest point. The complex also consists of five modern constructions that form the so-called "folding screen". These are made of Belgian red brick, glass and green granite.
The work is done by one of the most prestigious architects in the world, Japan's Arata Isozaki. This complex is also known as "Isozaki Atea" (Isozaki Gate), since it looks like an enormous gate welcoming all those visitors coming to Bilbao.
Inspired in the Spanish Steps of Rome, this place aims to be a passage to go from Uribitarte to Ensanche, and at the same time, a meeting point, since it is a huge square where citizens will find their recreation area.
Open to all visitors and citizens, this modern complex is a perfect set. Its flats, corridors and roofs can provide spectacular and magnificent views due to the beauty of its surroundings. Furthermore, since it is a recent construction images will be completely unknown.
Setting and atmosphere: modern, cosmopolitan, full of social activity and people.
