Description
Bilbao is an easily accessible city by road or by public transport, with the Metro Bilbao tube as an enclave for filming. Some train and Metro Bilbao stations are ideal to shoot, such as Abando, Santander, Atxuri and Amézola.
The Abando station is one of the most important ones in Bilbao due to its centrality and width. We must highlight its window. Made of 301 pieces, it was recently restored. The high-speed train will stop at the Abando station in a few years.
The Santander Station (or La Concordia) was built in 1898 and like other stations of the city, it has played an important role in Bilbao's history. Located near the ria and very close to the Arriaga Theatre, the restoration of the back facade will allow the construction of at least three glassed viewpoints level with the platforms.
The Atxuri station offers a very interesting view as it is the convergence between modern and ancient. The modern tram finishes its route in that station whereas the Puente de San Antón Bridge, from the 19th century, erects as a symbol of Bilbao. Contrasts in this area offer many possibilities when shooting.
The Amézola station has been recently built. The style of the entrance reminds us of the "fosterito", the metro entrance. It is a centric, bright and modern station, very similar to the tube stations.
Atmosphere: Urban atmosphere prevails in all the stations, with a busy social activity. In Abando, Atxuri and Santander the atmosphere is more classical due to its marked architectural setting.
