Description
The City Hall dates back to the 19th century and is known as one of the most representative buildings of the city.
It is located where the Campo Volantín starts and connects with the Ensanche de Bilbao through the bridge next to the Arriaga Theatre, providing it with an exceptional location in the city, both from the visual point of view and strategically speaking.
The inside of the construction is very smart and the presence of an abacus or capital is outstanding, resting upon a central body with balconies and colonnade. Its existence next to the ria and Campo Volantín recreates a majestic complex, very urban and functional and at the same time, that transmits calmness sensations due to the gardens lining the entrance steps.
Inside the building, the Arabic Hall stands out for its attractive and striking decoration. It is the usual place for civil weddings.
Setting and atmosphere: Classical, urban and busy activity.
