When you want to shoot your film in Bilbao you can need two kinds of permits:

• Licences to use public places: The license is given by the Bilbao City Council through BiFic. It allows you to make normal use of public places as well as extraordinary ones such as street or road closing. There is a form available in both the "Professional Guide (Permissions and licenses)" and the files of the different filming spots where you must include which activity will take place. This form must be sent to the specified email address. BiFic will study your requirements and will send you an estimation of place availability and taxes as soon as possible.
• License to use private places: you must negotiate directly with the private organisation. In this case BiFic (and the City Council) has no authority in this matter.

Bilbao Film Commission is a municipal office of audiovisual promotion whose main aim is to promote Bilbao as a film setting. Thus, all those interested in shooting a film in the city can request information at the office.

BiFic is a non-profit organisation, since it is run by the Bilbao City Council through its Department of Culture.

There is no charge for BiFic management and consultancy services. However, it will be necessary to pay filming fees. BiFic will indicate you according to your shooting's needs, therefore they will make a personalised estimation to that end.
